Grannie Memorial
This is a slideshow I created for my Grandmother's memorial service using the photos program from Apple. I received a lot of great feedback and realized that a lot of families and funeral homes could benefit from a service that highlights the life of those who have passed away. Since 2011 I have been consistently creating these slideshows for a number of funeral homes around Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I pick up photos which families drop off at the funeral home, scan them, create a slideshow, burn DVDs and return the photos along with the new slideshow all within 24 hours.

Robots
I have always liked antique toy robots and they had been the subject in a lot of pieces I made in my Foundations In Digital Media class. For my final assignment, I had to create a video after learning how to use Final Cut Pro. In this video, I document the process of making miniature robot heads which I use in the ending stop motion scene.

Camping Trip
Since 2011, I have been going up with my church's youth group to Rangeley, Maine for a 4-day camping trip. I always enjoy taking photos on this trip, but in 2014 I decided to record a bunch of video and make a "home movie" with my new DSLR camera. I had so much fun making this video and love that I can share it with other people to give them a feel for how great these trips are.

Charlestown, RI Brochure
In the fall of 2015, in my graphic design IV class, I had a semester long assignment of creating a 7-spread travel brochure. Growing up, my father had a beach house in Charlestown, RI. To this day it's known as "one of the best kept secrets in Rhode Island". I have spent every summer visiting it's beautiful beaches, so naturally this was the perfect destination for me to choose for my brochure.
Except for a few supporting images found online, most of the the photographs featured were taken by myself. Originally, my professor discouraged me from doing this, and even choosing Charlestown as a subject matter, but in the end he was very pleased. This is one of my favorite pieces because it's a place that is close to my heart and it is my hope that it reads that way.

Good Girl
In the fall of 2015, I took an advanced typography class. For this assignment, we were required to create type using different materials. The material we chose had to correlate with the message we were conveying. I chose milkbone dog treats as my material to spell out "good girl".

Bread Box Packaging Design
In the spring of 2016 for my graphic design V class, I had to design and create my own packaging. I decided to keep it simple, and created this organic looking packaging for bread inspired by antique bread boxes. I realized that bread is always being squished, so I came up with this solution for artisan breads. This packaging safely transports bread from store to home and doubles as a recyclable bread box for your counter.

Quiltees - Design for Good
In graphic design III, I had a semester long assignment of designing for good. I was given the task to create my own company and design all of the marketing materials that would go along with it. I created Quiltees, a company that takes donated T-shirts and upcycles them into handcrafted quilts for the homeless.
Since this fictitious company is all about recycling and sustainability, I decided to use recycled cardboard for all of the marketing materials. I created this logo which features a stitched Q which subtly enforces the idea of the hand-stitched quilts.
Aside from the traditional business card, envelope, and letterhead, I also had to create unconventional versions of each item which while still tying into the concept, wouldn't be financially practical. To reinforce the idea of Quiltees hand-crafted quilts, I ran the business card, envelope, and letterhead through my sewing machine.
For the final part of the project, we had to create posters that advertised our companies. Rather than using regular paper, I took a risk and decided to make miniature quilts out of old t-shirts and spray painted eye catching messages on them. I also created unconventional posters out of existing t-shirts.

Handbound Typography Book
In the fall of 2015, I took an advanced typography class. For our final assignment, we were given 6 weeks to create a 72-page book. Using two unrelated and pre-existing texts, we had to connect these differing "voices" together. For my book, I decided to choose conflicting song lyrics from Ray Lamontagne and Fiona Apple. Using InDesign, I blended these lyrical poems together through unexpected layouts, contrasting type, and supporting graphics. I then printed, cut, and hand-stitched the book together.
